GOALS OF THE TBSF.

The goals of the TBSF as contained in Articles 2 and 3 of its constitution are to:

• Promote the economic empowerment of members of its host communities.
• Support social transformation, initiate and/or continuously improve effectiveness to sustainable human development programmes;
• Continuously build capacity of its members towards the achievement of leadership and excellence.

Origin, Vision and Mission.

The Better Society Foundation (TBSF) was founded principally to advance the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of national life. It is registered in Nigeria (CAC/IT.NO 17329) as a non-governmental organization (NGO).

VISION: To create an independent, international, non-governmental, membership organisation which is free from political or religious affiliations, and does not discriminate on grounds of race, ethnicity, gender or religion?

MISSION: To pursue excellence, positive leadership and foster sustainable empowerment of a participative process of capacity building in the society

Previously Related Work.

The Foundation has worked in collaboration with the UNDP and the Lagos State Government in implementing the 6th Country Programme on Poverty Reduction. It handled the Train-the-Trainers Programme on Skills Acquisition in poultry, rabbit rearing, fishing, snail rearing and vegetable farming. We are also engaged in a pilot scheme on malaria eradication using an integrated approach in collaboration with the Surulere Local Government and the National Roll Back Malaria initiative.

Foundation Health and Safety Policy.

The Better Society Foundation (TBSF) operates a policy of maintaining the strictest health and safety rules for its employees and insists that only the very best materials are used for its services. The foundation’s safety manual details work gear, equipment and precautionary steps that must be followed consistently to guarantee maximum safety for clients as well as for staff. The policy is inspired by the belief that caution is the best policy.
